Objectives

  • To know the Operations Research methodology.
  • To know the Operations Research techniques and methods presented in the course, and to be able to apply them in the solution of small size instances.
  • To develop the capacity to analyse complex systems and to take better decisions through a process that involves:
    • to create a model to describe a system;
    • to use adequate computational software solvers to obtain a solution for the model;
    • to validate the model, to interpret the solution, and to elaborate recommendations for the system under analysis.
  • To understand the importance of assessing the solutions, and to be able to make sensitivity analysis.
